Method
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 lb (450 g) of ground beef along with 1 small finely diced onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent.
- Add 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper to the skillet. Stir in 1 tablespoon each of ketchup and yellow mustard, and let the mixture cook for 1-2 minutes to combine the flavors. Remove the skillet from heat.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out 1 can of refrigerated pizza dough (or crescent dough) into a rectangle.
- Evenly spread the beef mixture over the dough and sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese blend) over the top.
- Starting at the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log, similar to making cinnamon rolls. Slice the log into 1 to 1.5-inch thick pinwheels and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each rollup.
- Combine 3 tablespoons of melted butter with 1 teaspoon garlic powder and brush the mixture generously over the tops of the rollups. Optionally, sprinkle 1 teaspoon dried parsley on top for added color and flavor.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes, or until the rollups are golden and cooked through.
Notes
These rollups are a creative twist on the classic cheeseburger, combining savory beef, melted cheese, and a mouthwatering garlicky butter glaze wrapped in soft dough. They can easily be customized by swapping out the meat or cheese to suit your taste. For a balanced meal, serve them with crispy sweet potato fries, tangy coleslaw, or a fresh green salad. They’re perfect for game day, quick dinners, or even as impressive appetizers when entertaining.
