Ingredients
  

For the Pancakes
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar granulated
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg large
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg, and melted butter; stir until the mixture is smooth and just combined.
  3. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Pour or scoop about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the griddle.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges begin to look set, then flip and cook until browned on the other side.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.

Notes

You can customize these pancakes by adding blueberries, chocolate chips, or sliced bananas to the batter. They make a great make-ahead breakfast if stored in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. For a dairy-free version, substitute the milk with almond or oat milk, and use a vegan egg alternative. Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of honey for extra sweetness.
