Method
- In a large mixing bowl, beat 8 oz of softened cream cheese together with ½ cup of softened unsalted butter until completely smooth and creamy.
- Add 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 cup of creamy peanut butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat the mixture until it becomes fluffy and uniformly incorporated.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1½ cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips by heating in short 20-30 second bursts and stirring between intervals until the chocolate is smooth. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly.
- Fold the cooled melted chocolate into the peanut butter mixture, stirring until a gorgeous marbled appearance is achieved.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, cover it, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow it to set and reach a perfect scoopable consistency.
- Before serving, garnish with a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips if desired.
Notes
For best results, ensure that the cream cheese and butter are at room temperature so that they blend smoothly. You can easily experiment with different types of chocolate, such as milk or dark, to suit your taste. This dip can be prepared a few hours ahead and kept refrigerated until ready to serve, making it a practical option for parties. Serve with salty pretzels, graham crackers, or fresh fruit to add a delightful balance of flavors.
